Table Basse Stone Matte is inspired by the artist Pierre Bonnefille’s observation of stones and personal collection of pebbles. Like small fragments gathered from a landscape, stones give rise to meditation. Whilst travelling in Iceland, Bonnefille, noticed a mossy rock, covered with a thin layer of a stream’s crystalline water. This pebble haunted his drawings, like a stone that life polishes within us. A random stone became this oval object covered with matter infused with red pigments.
