The drinks cabinet, wall-mounted and almost floating, evokes the lightness of marine life or unfolding petals. The sculpted doors are crafted from laminated sycamore with layers of translucent resin mesh, creating a surface that shimmers subtly and moves with the ambient light. The flowing lines ripple across the convex form like sand shaped by tides or wind-blown silk. When opened, the cabinet reveals a finely crafted interior: compartments shaped with intuitive curves, housing a bespoke collection of glassware. Each niche is carved with precision, echoing the overall form language while offering functional elegance.
Together, the cabinet and bar create a dialogue between containment and gesture, between fluid curves and crisp precision. The pale sycamore is chosen not only for its working qualities but for its almost weightless appearance, lending the pieces a sense of calm and spatial openness. The integration of resin mesh into the cabinet doors adds a ghostlike translucency, reinforcing the series' central theme: the illusion of weightlessness and the transformation of solid material into something seemingly ephemeral.
As with all of Marc Fish’s works, these pieces are not only resolved in form but are underpinned by a deep knowledge of traditional craft, innovative materials, and sustainable methods. For collectors, they offer an intersection of sculptural elegance and daily utility—timeless statements that elevate the spaces they inhabit while remaining rooted in craftsmanship of the highest order.
