The base is clad in deeply blackened oak, its vertical striations echoing the centrifugal force of a whirlpool. The top surface, in contrast, is formed from layers of sycamore and a thick cast resin layer that has been meticulously hand-carved to express the swirling turbulence of a vortex. The motion is frozen mid-spin, with each ridge and fold catching light and creating the illusion of liquid in motion.
Underneath, the sycamore interior glows softly beneath the translucent resin, adding warmth and depth to the sculptural surface. This striking interplay of natural and synthetic materials creates a piece that is both visually arresting and conceptually bold.
A masterwork of material innovation and fluid geometry, Vortex Table blurs the boundary between furniture and art, drawing the viewer into a moment of captured energy and perpetual motion.
