Caroline Chouler-Tissier, (b.1964 in Yorkshire) has previously lived in Derbyshire with her family, running an experimental art studio. In 2020 she began her MA in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art.
Following graduation, she established Studio 83 in Norwich UK.
Caroline’s RCA practice extended her interest in working across new materials exploring the diverse, rich materiality of ceramics, glass, and bronze, plastics, and wax.
Her work with museum artefacts has led to an exploration of the ambivalence of memory and recorded history and addresses the central contemporary destabilising factors we encounter, the expression of tension, the processing of personal and environmental grief and the wider influence of family and societal expectation on the discovery of self.
Chouler-Tissier’s work has been exhibited across the UK and is held in museum and private collections.
