ST STANLEY BEARSKIN is the new iconic centre table from Melbourne base, DenHolm.

Once an embryonic piece of Limestone, selected from the Shores of Kaurna country in Australia. This piece’s vertebrae celebrate the natural earth and powdered presence that is sculpted and carved in astute and purposeful motions.

This piece preserves the innate textural qualities of the material by adapting the intimate carving techniques that ensure its form is controlled yet allowed to break free. Along with the limestone, this piece adorns hand-injected resin that has been coloured and distilled by fusing organic pigments with limestone dust from the studio floor.

The stone is personally hand painted/ decorated by DenHolm Founder, Steven & Creative Director, Lars - their hands and vision bringing a unique irreverence to the age old interaction between stone and mason.

Intertwining through the table is hand-cut and welded bronze. The in-studio smelting process is an amalgamation of unique tiles of bronze being flex-welded to organically produce a barnacle likeness bleeding out from the stone. To tie together the piece, the artist's hand-engraved signature DenHolm iconography that is unique to the piece. Allowing for the process to be an ongoing journey that passes through the hands of the artist into the ever changing individual interpretation of each view/ viewer.
