Evoking the elegance and mathematical perfection of the nautilus shell, this sculptural low table is a striking fusion of natural form and meticulous craftsmanship. Comprising over 4,000 individually laid strips of sycamore and walnut veneer, the piece spirals inward in a seamless logarithmic curve, reflecting the rhythms and proportions found in nature.
The hand-carved exterior is richly textured—eroded and striated like a shell shaped by time and tide—while the polished interior reveals a glowing, fluid geometry. Delicate internal dividers, made from Japanese paper, create subtle partitions within the form, adding lightness and a sense of organic growth.
A glass top preserves the functional surface while offering an unobstructed view into the intricacy of the structure below. At once furniture and sculpture, the Nautilus Table stands as a meditation on balance, precision, and the quiet poetry of the natural world.
