This chair continues my exploration of hanji paper (Traditional Korean Mulberry Paper), valued for its delicate yet durable nature. Made from Mulberry tree, hanji carries a distinctive grain that forms a surprisingly strong and stable structure when layered. Rather than forcing the material into a predefined form, I let it grow organically, sheet by sheet. Like Plants responding to their environment. The shape emerges intuitively, guided by the natural logic of the material. The pro- cess is slow, deliberate, and grounded in a respect for time, resources, and craft. This work is not only a study in structure but a quiet statement on sustainability.
