Luminescence is a 180 cm tall bronze sculpture supported by three twisted, skeletal legs. It appears as if it might collapse at any moment, balanced on a precarious point of tension. Resting above is a thick, hollow column—smooth and organic in form—from which a soft, ambient glow emerges. The surface is weathered to a pale, glacial tone, evoking the remnants of a distant era. Conceived in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, the work is rooted in a deeply personal moment: watching the artist’s daughter take her first steps—fragile, uncertain, yet filled with determination. Luminescence reflects on the persistence of life in the face of instability. It expresses a quiet resilience: hope emerging from vulnerability, and a sense of strength that endures even in solitude.
