BiographyFabrikr is an artist duo consisting of Dongkyu Kim and Sungjo Kim. Their practice spans a wide spectrum that transcends genres-from single objects to large-scale spatial installations. For them, an individual object is a condensed version of a vast space, while a vast space is an expansion of a single object. Moving fluidly across the boundaries of genre, scale, design, and art, Fabrikr reexamines and reinterprets objects, spaces, and subjects from fresh perspectives. Their work lies in identifying the inherent context and materiality of a subject, exploring it through new viewpoints, and expressing it in their own sculptural language. From their early works, Fabrikr has redefined the value of neglected or discarded materials by transforming them in unexpected ways, thereby subverting conventional perspectives. This approach reflects their distinctive attitude toward seeing and understanding things differently. Through their work, Fabrikr seeks to inspire people and share new ways of perceiving the world-that, to them, is both the direction and purpose of their artistic practice.
