It is often said, a piece of furniture adds the finishing touch to an architectural work; we believe furniture makes architecture. The Noailles Column is a monumental floor lamp, it is a tribute to the column in the Salon Rose at Mallet Stevens’ Villa Noailles on the Côte d’Azur in France. This 2.5 metre piece consists of a column with two superimposed cylinders that can move vertically and revolve on their axis, creating variations in colour and light intensity. The work on colour consists of a play on superimposition, the two cylinders are in two unique tones, orange and violet, which, put together, make up the pink of the central column.
