This sculptural chandelier evokes the dynamic tension between nature’s calm and chaos. Its form is inspired by the spiraling motion of a vortex, the raw power of a tornado, and the organic geometry of a wasp’s nest.
At its core, a twisting, asymmetric structure of weathered oak mimics the swirling energy of air in motion—its surface textured and eroded as if sculpted by wind over time. The timber’s grain is exposed and soft-edged, with a bleached, sun-worn patina that feels both ancient and elemental.
Interwoven through this wooden spiral are delicate accents of gold leaf, applied within the recesses and folds, like veins of light catching the turbulence. The gilding gleams in contrast to the muted oak, suggesting flashes of sunlight breaking through a storm.
Suspended from fine, almost invisible cables, the chandelier hovers with a quiet but magnetic presence—an aerial sculpture frozen at the moment between collapse and flight.
When lit, the piece casts a dramatic interplay of shadow and shimmer, echoing the natural rhythms of the wind, the hive, and the vortex.
