GYEOL (결) is a Korean word that refers to the grain of wood, the natural flow and traces that time leaves within a material.
FABRIKR layers discarded fabric over fragments of wood whose time has come to a standstill, drawing new growth rings onto the time already held within the wood.
Materials carrying different histories are brought together through a process of repeated making to form a single gyeol. In doing so, traces of the past are transformed into new forms and new functions.
Through sculptural language, GYEOL reinterprets the value of overlooked materials, giving new stories to materials once considered complete and adding yet another growth ring to their passage through time.
